L5P Duramax 14mm head stud kit. Another SoCal Diesel Exclusive. This kit requires the block, heads and head gaskets to be machined to accept 14mm head studs.

Duramax 14mm Head Stud Instructions

• 12mm drill to existing depth, .562 counter bore to .600 depth, tap the block to 14mm x 2.0 mm.

• Ream the head bolt holes and head gaskets to .590.

• Please note that position #16 and #17 in figure # 1 requires the use of the shorter studs supplied in the kit in order to clear the valve cover.

• Final torque recommendation is 190 ft lbs for the 14mm studs and 18 ft lbs for the 8mm bolts.

• Follow the torque sequence shown in figure # 1, we recommend going through the sequence to full torque and release 4 separate times. This cycling helps to stabilize the fastener for maximum clamp load prior to actual engine operation.
